James Field- Teaching Professional

 

 James has been involved in the game of golf for over 20 years. He turned professional in 2001 and has since worked in various aspects of the golf industry with a majority of the time spent expanding student’s knowledge about the game of golf. He has gained valuable experience from working with some of the world’s top golf instructors, engineers and guru’s. James has been a member of the European Golf Teachers Federation since 2002 and the PGA of America since 2008.

 

After graduating from university, James spent two years working for a multinational accounting firm, but realized his true passion was golf. Since then, he spent a year working as an Equipment Specialist for Direct Golf UK, a multinational golf retailer. This followed by two seasons as Director of Golf operating an on-board teaching program with Holland America and Celebrity Cruise Lines, while traveling the world. This teaching academy offered a first class verbal, visual, and kinesthetic program as well as golf excursions to world class courses in port.

 

After leaving ship life, James spent two seasons as Technical Representative for Titleist and Ping in Dubai, UAE. Here he oversaw the custom fitting, demonstration and repair program for the Persian Gulf. Additionally, he ran group clinics and outings, with golf instruction for corporations in the region.

 

Since moving to the US in 2007, he has been involved in numerous golf operations with a majority of his time teaching golfers of all levels at Chelsea Piers Golf Club. Lessons and fittings included beginners through advanced golfers both at the range and on the golf course. James established unique short and long term programs for individuals as well as groups of students.

 

Also, he has been heavily involved within the equipment process particularly with Cleveland Golf/Srixon as their NY Representative where he was able to establish an in-house custom fitting and equipment program for NYC.

 

James was recently appointed Head Professional to The Eligo Club, a global virtual golf club with its North American operations based in NYC. As a result he has recently moved his seasonal teaching base to Randall’s Island Golf Center in order to offer the best all-around learning experience for his new and existing students.
